Big news! Biden discusses food security and cell based meat!
Biden discusses executive order to announce the launch of the National Biotechnology and Biomanufacturing Initiative. Among other goals, the intiative seeks to bolster food security and agricultural innovation by supporting new biotechnologies, including cell-based meat and seafood. The initiative additionally aims to grow domestic biomanufacturing capacity, fuel bioscience innovation, expand training and education in biotechnology and biomanufacturing, and streamline regulations on products of biotechnology.

Empirically grounded technology forecasts and the energy transition
Solar and wind costs are falling drastically, as much as 10% per year, according to the BBC. Soon it will be economically advantageous in addition to good climate-forward to implement this tech. "Even if you're a climate denier, you should be on board with what we're advocating," Prof Doyne Farmer from the Institute for New Economic Thinking at the Oxford Martin School told BBC News. "Our central conclusion is that we should go full speed ahead with the green energy transition because it's going to save us money," he said.

Engineered marbled-like bovine fat tissue for engineered meat
Mesenchymal stem cells are a class of stem cells found in adult humans and animals that help us regenerate and stay healthy. These cells are abundant and can be taken semi-noninvasively from the animal. Aleph Farms, in collaboration with the Levenberg group of the Israel Institute of Technology, produce edible fat tissue from cow (bovine) mesenchymal stem cells and combine them with muscle cells as a proof of concept for fabricating marbled meat products.
